The title of this article isn't a joke, nor is it an attempt to poke at a hornet's nest--I know that Valentine's Day can be a sensitive subject for people who are on their own. But it can be true. If you want it to be. When you are part of a couple, Valentine's Day can be heavily wrought with expectations and demands. One misstep from the prescribed imagined perfection and it can end with hurt feelings, tantrums, and sleeping alone.

So why not look at the positive side of things if you're looking at sleeping alone anyway? At least you can eliminate the drama and set yourself up to have a day and a night that is relaxing, sensual, and pleasurable with none of the disappointments. When you are in a relationship, it can be a real struggle to reach an agreement on what is the best way to celebrate Valentine's--will it be romantic? Erotic? Will you both just ignore it? With one person more invested than the other, or with differing ideas of romance, there is sure to be trouble ahead. On your own, though, you can make your own definitions of the Perfect Valentine's Day celebration.
