This pie pretty much got finished off before I was even able to get the recipe up--which is no mean feat, considering I just made it yesterday. This is a great pie for people who like cherries, but don't necessarily want the same old plain cherry pie. The cream filling is silky smooth and the cherries are so over-flowing in this filling that they...well. Over-flow. I would hasten to add that I didn't pull that cherry out to be picturesque--it seriously dropped out while I was taking the picture. You can find the full recipe here.
I should get up a savoury pie tonight or tomorrow (a Southern tomato pie) and look for a super fancy Kentucky Derby pie to be made later this week, as requested.
