Ready...Set...DRAW!

I've got some excitement, peeps, but I need someone to draw it to make it better.

No, seriously.

I need an illustrator. Is anyone looking to get their work out there? Fame (and/or notoriety) will be yours, plus time spent having me demand that you do it BETTER! FASTER! MORE! and doesn't that sound like fun?

I have been given the reins of a blog on a real site--I do not mean someone's personal project or just something I've clubbed together--so I need someone who can work to deadlines and submit professional-quality cartoons/images.

At the moment, I'm thinking in the area of one image a week--this may decrease if you can't handle the pace, or increase if we start working together on off-shoot projects.

While I am asking for people to come on board now for one particular project, what I would love to see happen is have an illustrator who will tie themselves to my writing to develop one cohesive style together. So it will be a help if you are happy with my way of writing (take a gander through my journal if you've never seen me before, or contact me and I'll send you to my personal site) and feel that you can deal with me long-term (please note: you don't have to be my friend or like me--this is a professional gig--any friendship is extra).

What I need:

-Images that will be published at 250x250

-A clear style that translates well--think Jetson-y cartoons, 50s pseudo-retro, that sort of thing. Black and white is fine, but color would be fun

-Someone who can deal with a writer who knows so little about art that she can say "Jetson-y cartoons, 50s pseudo-retro" and expect you to know what that means

-Someone who is comfortable in adult-themed work. I do not want graphic sex images! But the blog is sexuality-focused and you will need to be comfortable drawing risque images. Think couples in bed with sheets pulled up, sex toys, that sort of thing.

What you get:

-All images will link back to your site of choice--either your professional/personal page, or a CV page that you can host on my site, if you need.

-Retention of the rights to your image. The site will want the right to post your images with my blog posts, as agreed, for as long as the site is in operation, but you are free to use them however you want elsewhere.

-Posting your own informational blurb to send readers back to your work is negotiable, as is adding on signatures and the like. Most things are up for discussion, depending on how much you're doing this because you want to launch your own work, or because you just think it's cool.

-Access to the owners of the company. If you can persuade them that they need to hire you on as their main graphics guy/girl, that is all you. Just don't stop drawing for me. :)

I purposely haven't launched my new blog here yet--I want it to be all shiny and perfect first. But if you contact me personally, I can show you more exactly what you'll be doing.

Peeps, if you read this and you're not an illustrator, but know someone who is, please send them over. Blog at will--I need a good artist and I don't care how I find them.
