We've been looking at how to make porn more accessible for people who are normally turned off by the mainstream versions--yesterday, I showed how amateur porn could help alleviate a lot of the 'performance anxiety' a lot of women (and some men) can feel when viewing professionals who are gloriously gifted physically.

But feeling uncomfortable with actors who are more buoyant than average is not the only reason people can be turned off by classic porn.  For a lot of people, it can feel disconnected from the emotional side of sex that they need to feel aroused.  Watching dirty films with your partner should make you feel closer--not make you feel even further apart.  Unfortunately, when you're watching a film that is meant to use fantasy to turn you on, it can feel like your partner is busy thinking of everyone other than you.

Luckily, there are films out there that can be the perfect compromise between those of you who want to just see some hot sex and those of you who want to feel a connection with your partner.  Videos that have been produced with couples in mind, for the purpose of increasing skill and intimacy, are a wonderful blend of sex and romantic.

Especially good are the Lovers' Guide series--explicit enough for a bit of titillation on its own merits, but also genuinely useful for teaching you all sorts of things you didn't know about sex in general and what pleases your partner in particular.  They are wonderful for getting you to communicate in new ways and can re-ignite sex lives that have gotten a bit more routine.  And who knows?  If these work out well, you may find you have a partner on your hands who is much more willing to try all other types of porn with you.
