Being American, I have never really understood the use of the term ‘jaded’ as anything other than how we use it–to denote cynicism and world-weariness, rather than fatigue. Until I made it to the backend of this holiday season, that is. After a whirlwind of parties, overnight guests, more food and drink than any three people should eat in a week…I get the point of British jaded. Oh, yes.
When you don’t even have the energy to move your bloated carcass off the couch, it can be hard to be enticed even by the fanciest of toys. That’s why I won’t even be looking at anything with a battery compartment for the next few days. But considering that this is the time when I need relaxation more than ever, it won’t do to just abstain from goodies completely. Which is why I adore the pants off of Gary for stocking the Kama Sutra Massage Therapy Kit.
There are five bottles, each with a different scent, but if I’m honest, I’m happy enough to pick up this kit based solely on the inclusion of a Sweet Almond oil. Sweet Almond is one of the best scents you can try out when you’re looking for something to relax and soothe you–it is never over-powering and it is one of those scents that men will enjoy as much as women. The bottles are small enough that you can toss one or two into your overnight bag if you’ve still got travelling to do. To be honest, sneaking away from the relatives and guests to have a sweetly scented rub down sounds just about a-okay to me right now.
Don’t forget that this is the season for giving as well as receiving–if you get a massage, give a massage. Afterall, with five bottles, there is more than enough to share.
