100% RDA of Emotional Baggage II

Rolling over. We're still talking about what labels we would want for ourselves, but also what labels we wish other people would use, so we could avoid as needed.

Also, hello, Rico! :)

----------------------------------

Early in the comments for the "Did You Check Her Out, You Bastard?" post, the issue of our labels came up. Specifically, do you have to use a certain label to cover your situation that isn't quite a correct fit? Do we label ourselves as "Single" when we've actually started dating someone because we aren't sure it's going to work out, or "Seeing Somebody" when you're just crushing on someone pretty hard? Do we need more labels, as was suggested, to include greyer areas like "Not Quite Ready for a Serious Relationship", "Desperate to Get Married", or "Looking to Cheat"?

I was talking via IM with a friend last night who was saying that after his breakup, he labelled himself as "Divorced" on MySpace, because even though he had never been married, that was how he felt. Anyone else wish there were more specific labels? And do you want it for yourself...or for the guy you start talking to who maybe needed a "Not Wanting to Mention My Live-In Girlfriend" label?

Editted to add: "RDA" is "Recommended Daily Allowance"...like a nutrition label. *sigh* I thought I was sooo clever, too. Thanks, Did, for humbling me.
