Oooh, muffins. I adore muffins. It shouldn't make much difference, but I find them easier and more fun to eat than cakes. This recipe is great when you're looking to get rid of some leftover bananas as it is super-quick and not terribly unhealthy.

Dessert
Something sweet makes the world a better place. My love for cake is renowned, but I also make time for pies, candies, and other sweet bits. This is the category to keep your eye on especially around the holidays.
Main Course
It's the reason we come to the table, no? My main courses are invariably simple to put together and lean towards healthy, where possible. Look for guest cooks for fancier fare.
Salad
Often overlooked as being boringly healthy, salads are actually one of the most versatile dishes you can make. Plump them up to a main course or keep them handy as a side, either way salads are jolly.
Soups
I love soups almost too much. I like the thrift of being able to stretch out your leftovers and I love the ease of tossing things into a pot and having it magically turn into dinner. How can you go wrong with soup?
Bakery
Using your oven for something not a casserole or dessert? Madness. Non-sweet baking is something best left to the professionals--check here for recipes from guest bakers far more talented than I.
Side Dish
When no one is around to see me do it, I often make a side dish as my main course. I'm not proud, but at least I'm honest. You can trust, though, that that means I'm making very tasty side dishes.
Appetizer
Nibbly bits for parties, small dishes for buffets, anything that you can't quite rationalize calling a main course or even a side dish falls here. Sometimes you just want a little bit of the good stuff, no?
Spreads and Chutneys
If you love to garden (or just grab a bargain at the produce aisle), you often end up with a bounty of fruit and vegetables--making chutneys and preserves are a great way to get intense flavour and not waste a thing.
